…A STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL AFFECT ALLEGHANY…NORTHERN
WILKES…WATAUGA AND ASHE COUNTIES IN NORTHWESTERN NORTH CAROLINA…

At 332 PM EDT, scattered strong thunderstorms were developing from
Alleghany County North Carolina…and south along the Blue Ridge
Parkway into Watauga County. These storms showed little movement.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and pea size hail are possible with this
storms, but more importantly, due to the slow movement, expect heavy
rainfall.

Locations impacted include…
Boone…
Sparta…
Jefferson…
West Jefferson…
Blowing Rock…
Traphill…
and Foscoe.

Expect torrential downpours from these storms, which may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

These storms may also intensify, so be certain to monitor local
radio stations and available television stations for additional
information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
