…Gusty West to Northwest Winds Expected Today…

A deep area of low pressure across the Great Lakes today
will keep a gusty northwest winds across the mountains
of western North Carolina and southwest Virginia today.
Winds will increase after daybreak this morning and are
expected by mid to late morning through the afternoon
to reach sustained speeds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts
of 40 mph or greater possible at time. If such winds
are expected to persist for a greater period of time,
across a greater area, or speeds are expected to be
high than currently expected, a Wind Advisory may be
required for part or all of the affected region.
