…INCREASED FIRE DANGER IN EFFECT FROM NOON EDT TODAY THROUGH
THIS EVENING…

In coordination with local land managers yesterday evening, a
Fire Danger Statement was issued for North Carolina counties
along the Blue Ridge Escarpment, Foothills, and north-central
mountains. In the affected areas, gusty afternoon winds ranging
from 20 to 30 mph will coincide with low humidity and dry fuels.
Fire will have an easier time starting and spreading.

Refer to your local burn-permitting authority on whether you may
burn today. If you do burn, exercise extreme caution.
