Seven Hour Standoff on Crocker Road Ends Peacefully

Watauga County, NC — On the evening of June 25, 2025, deputies with the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a suspicious male attempting to unlawfully enter an occupied residence in the area of Crocker Road.

Upon arrival, deputies encountered the suspect, who fled on foot and subsequently barricaded himself inside a residence located at 544 Crocker Road. The individual was believed to be armed and refused multiple commands to surrender.

In response to the threat, the Watauga Regional Special Response Team and the Watauga Crisis Negotiations Team were activated and responded to the scene. Negotiators engaged in extended communication efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution.

After approximately seven hours, the suspect was safely taken into custody without further incident. No injuries were reported.

The Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division also responded and is currently conducting a follow-up investigation.

Adam Lee Weisbrodt of 544 Crocker Road Blowing Rock has been charged with attempted breaking and entering and injury to personal property and there will be more charges to follow.
