Monday Sept 28

Due to weather, no flagging operations are currently scheduled today on #US321 in Blowing Rock

Continue to stay alert to vehicles entering/exiting US321 and side roads as well as private and business driveways, from Norwood Circle to Food Lion Shopping Center, as ALL TRAFFIC remains in a temporary pattern on the future northbound lanes through this section of the project.

Tuesday Sept 29

Due to weather, no flagging operations are currently scheduled today on 321 in Blowing Rock.

2:26pm – Expect delays on 421 in Vilas near the post office due to an accident.

2:36pm – scanner dispatch reports the road at Boone airport is flooded.

3:45pm – with a lull in the rain there are no other flood reports to pass along currently.

3:55pm – According to Watauga County dispatch – Deerfield Rd at the Moose Lodge is down to one lane Northbound (towards airport) due to flooding. Tree across Parkway near Thunderhill Overlook (MM 290) is blocking roadway.

5:42pm – Dewitt Barnett Road bridge in Valle Crucis is under water.

6pm – 3000 block of Watauga River Road is under water.

Wednesday Sept 30

6:45am – No reported issues due to flooding.

7:11am – Deerfield Road and Bamboo Rd by the airport are back open.

3:57pm – 3 car accident in the north bound lane of King Street  near New Market Center.

4:53pm – Accident near Rocky Knob park (bike park). Expect heavy  traffic delays.

5:29pm – Boone Mall parking lot on 321 side is flooded.

5:51pm – US HWY 421 N at 2nd entrance of Linville Creek Rd. Motor Vehicle Accident. Roadway completely blocked.

6:28pm – 421 in Vilas is back open after earlier wreck.
