Leola Street will be closed from Meadowview Dr to Zeb St from 4pm-10pm as Boone Fire is conducting a controlled burn exercise.
After early morning fog/drizzle, construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock with various impacts to traffic. Lane closures for northbound and southbound traffic are in place from Sunset Dr to Tanger Outlets for various operations including storm drain work, utility work, sidewalk and curb & gutter work. EXPECT CONGESTION AND DELAYS THROUGH THIS AREA. Various other construction operations not impacting travel will continue today as well.
Tuesday September 20
Construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock with various moderate to significant impacts to traffic. Lane closures for northbound and southbound traffic are in place from Tanger Outlets to Sunset Dr for various operations including storm drain work, utility work, sidewalk and curb & gutter work. Lane closures/flagging operations are in place in the vicinity of Norwood Circle for utility work and from Green Park Inn to Cone Orchard Rd for various ops including retaining wall construction, excavation and utility work. The most significant impacts to traffic today will be on Westview Dr. Crews are removing the concrete barrier rail along Westview Dr and motorists can expect delays of up to 30 min when traveling along Westview Dr. EXPECT CONGESTION AND DELAYS THROUGH THESE AREAS OF THE PROJECT.
Wednesday September 21
Watauga County Schools will release early on Wed Sept 21 for a scheduled professional development day. K-8 dismissed at noon, WHS at 1pm.
4:54pm – Expect delays on Valle Mountain (194 south) as a tractor and trailer is stuck in the S curve per scanner dispatch.
Thursday September 22
Construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock with various moderate to significant impacts to traffic. Lane closures for northbound and southbound traffic are in place from Tanger Outlets to Sunset Dr for various including guardrail installation, sidewalk and curb & gutter work. Lane closures/flagging operations are in place on US 221/US 321 Bus near Chetola for sidewalk preparation. Flagging operations will alternate today between Possum Hollow Rd and Sunset Dr, east of #US321, for shoulder work and curb & gutter work. EXPECT CONGESTION AND DELAYS THROUGH THESE AREAS OF THE PROJECT.
Friday September 23
