A section of NC-88 in Ashe County is closed for repairs related to Helene.
The section is near Clint Gilley Road, west of West Jefferson, from Mile Marker 15.9 to 16.6 heading east.
The work requires embankment repair, accomplished by a pipe replacement and soil nail wall installation. The closure began today, Wednesday, February 5th, and is projected until Friday, March 7th at 5:00 PM. All Traffic will be able to detour around the closure through Clint Gilley Road, which is a Loop.
Expected impact to traffic is High.
Detour From Western End of Closure: Turn right onto Clint Gilley Rd and continue +/- 1.1 Mile to the NC 88W Intersection, which is the Eastern End of the Closure. From Eastern End of Closure: Turn left onto Clint Gilley Rd and continue +/- 1.1 Mile to the NC 88W Intersection, which is the Western End of the Closure.
