Line technicians from BREMCO responded to scattered outages all across the service area throughout yesterday, Tuesday, due to high winds causing trees or tree limbs outside the rights of way to fall into power lines.
The largest single outage in Watauga County involved 202 members in Deep Gap yesterday from 5:52 p.m to 7:04 p.m. due to the winds pulling a tree down on a power line in that area. In fact, all the outages in Watauga yesterday were in the Deep Gap area. Another tree outside the right of way fell onto power lines caused 121 members to be without power from 4:36 p.m. to 7:05 p.m. and there were a few scattered outages earlier in the afternoon in the county.
The other outages across the service area all happened around the same timeframe but linemen restored all by early evening, the final outage was restored in Alleghany at 8:30 p.m. according to BREMCO.
