Police from several organizations responded to Watauga High School on Wednesday after backup was called for.

Garrett Price, Communications Director for Watauga County Schools, says that a student at WHS initiated a fight and was restrained by the School Resource Officer. The SRO called for back-up and several Boone PD units responded. No weapons were involved, no lockdown was called and classes quickly resumed as normal.

Boone Police tweeted out at 10:47 am that no weapons were involved.

Units from Boone Police, Watauga County Sheriff's Office and ASU Police responded to the scene.
