RALEIGH – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles will interrupt its online services statewide for six hours on Tuesday, August 1 while it implements a $3 fee increase for Wake County’s regional transportation authority.
The interruption of service will occur overnight from midnight to 6 a.m. on Tuesday. DMV’s online services will resume as usual following the interruption.
The Wake County increase, passed by the N.C. General Assembly, brings the total county fee for regional transportation to $8. The increase follows another tax of $7 for vehicle registration in Wake County, which became effective July 1. Both fees add $15 to annual vehicle registration bills in the county.
