BOONE – N.C. Department of Transportation crews will repair a Hurricane Helene-damaged drainage box in Watauga County next week.
Crews will begin repairs on the N.C. 105 Bypass near Greer Lane and the AppalCART offices Monday morning. Repairs are expected to finish Wednesday.
Most of this repair can be completed on the shoulder of the road, but crews may briefly stop traffic throughout the day to finish some parts of the operation. Transportation officials urge drivers to pay attention in the work zone and follow directions from flaggers.
Hurricane Helene damaged the drainage box and a pipe under the road. An NCDOT contractor repaired the pipe late last year.
