On March 12, 2012 Watauga County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 12:12 AM in reference to suspicious activity in the 700 Block of Howard’s Creek Road. Officers from the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Howard’s Creek Road area. While officers were responding to Howard’s Creek Road Watauga County Sheriff’s Office received an additional report that there was a male in the 700 Block of Howard’s Creek Road that had received a gunshot wound to his hip area.
A BOLO was issued by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office for a white SUV that was seen leaving the area. An investigation was conducted by the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office in reference to this incident. The white SUV was located and a search was conducted of the vehicle.
As a result of the investigation and the search, 19 year old Tyler Coty Delp of 118 Wildwood Drive Deep Gap, and 21 year old Christopher Curtis Lilly of 174 Cornerstone Lane Deep Gap, were charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury.
Christopher Curtis Lilly was arrested on March 12, 2012 and taken before a Watauga County Magistrate and held under a $50,000.00 bond with a court date of May 17, 2012.
The warrant for Tyler Coty Delp is outstanding and as of this date he has not been located to be served the warrant.
