Methamphetamine Trafficker arrested by Watauga Sheriff’s Office, SBI & Lenoir Police

Sheriff L.D. Hagaman announced on February 27, 2024, around 4:30 pm, Narcotic Detectives and Patrol with the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office, NC SBI and Lenoir Police Department made an arrest on a Methamphetamine Trafficker. 

Stillman Curtis Kellum, age 55, of Vilas was arrested and charged with Trafficking methamphetamine by possession greater than 400 grams and Trafficking methamphetamine by transportation greater than 400 grams. Kellum was presented to the Watauga County Magistrates Office where he was held on no bond until he would make a first court appearance. 

On February 28, 2024 Kellum received a $500,000 secured bond in front of a Watauga County District Court Judge. 

Watauga County Patrol Deputies initiated the traffic stop on NC Hwy 421 N. During the stop, Deputy K-9 Chris alerted on the vehicle. 

Deputies and Narcotics Detectives located approximately two pounds of methamphetamine and $1,466 cash.
