Construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock with several traffic shifts from Tanger Outlets to Green Park Inn for various operations including sidewalk installation, fence installation, curb & gutter work, driveway paving, wall construction and rough grade work. Flagging operations at Tanger Outlets and Possum Hollow are also in place today.
Excavation across the intersection on 321 at US 221/US 321 Bus/N. Main St is complete; however, excavation operations are still in progress along the median from Westview Drive towards Tanger Outlets. Motorists can expect significant congestion and possible delays when traveling through this area and should adjust travel times accordingly.

Construction operations continue on a limited basis today on 321 in Blowing Rock due to current rainy weather and wet ground conditions.

Various traffic shifts on 321 in Blowing Rock from Tanger Outlets to Green Park Inn.
Friday May 13
Weather permitting, construction operations will continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock with alternating traffic shifts from Tanger Outlets to Green Park Inn for various phases of work; however, no flagging and no lane closures are scheduled due to anticipated heavy traffic volumes for ASU Graduation activities.
12:14pm Friday May 13 – Expect delays on 421 in Vilas near the bottom of Boone Mtn due to a wreck.
1:04pm Friday May 13 – 421 in Vilas is back open. Expect congestion delays.
