Multiple law enforcement agencies were involved in a Sunday morning chase that started in Caldwell County and ended up in Bristol, Tennessee.
On Sunday at 9:40 a.m., the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) was notified of a stolen 2022 Honda HR-V being pursued from North Carolina on Highway 421 into Tennessee.
The North Carolina agencies terminated the pursuit at the state line, where Johnson County TN Sheriff’s Office deputies located the vehicle and initiated the pursuit again, according to THP. The chase continued into Sullivan County, TN.
THP troopers successfully deployed spike strips at the Highway 421 bridge, deflating the vehicle’s right rear tire. The driver pulled over on Pennsylvania Avenue near State Street and was taken into custody.
The driver was identified as 39-year-old Joshua T. Gragg. He was charged with Possession of Stolen Property Over $10,000, Felony Evading, Reckless Endangerment, Driving on a Suspended License, Reckless Driving, Speeding, and Improper Passing.
