Legendary skateboarder & entrepreneur Tony Hawk in Boone today

The legendary skateboarder and entrepreneur Tony Hawk was in Boone today.

By mid-morning Hawk was trending on Twitter after his tweet about being told he look like Tony Hawk at a coffee shop in Lincolnton.

At coffee shop this morning:
Girl behind counter: (not joking) “has anyone told you that you look like Tony Hawk?”
Me: yes, so much that I sometimes write about it.
Her: haha, here’s your coffee
Other girl by exit: (leans toward me as I walk out): “you really do look like him”

After that Twitter exchange he was in Boone a short time later.

He attended graduation ceremonies on the App State campus Friday evening.
