Flagging operations on 421 North in Zionville, near the Post Office, for shoulder maintenance.
1:43pm – The Traffic Light at Rivers St & 321 is flashing, DOT is aware and has an extended ETA to fix the light. Use Caution in the area.
1:44pm – Traffic lights at 221/421 in Deep Gap are not working per incoming report. Use caution in that area.
3:40pm – Use caution in the area of the 321/105/105 Ext, DOT is on scene cleaning up some debris that fell from a dump truck.
Tuesday June 14
Flagging operations on 421 North in Zionville, near the Post Office, for shoulder maintenance.
Construction operations continue today on 321 in Blowing Rock with numerous operations scheduled this morning including paving between Tanger Outlets and Food Lion Shopping Center, sidewalk installation, curb & gutter installation, retaining wall construction, grade work, and storm drainage structure installation. EXPECT HEAVY CONGESTION AND DELAYS BETWEEN TANGER OUTLETS AND FOOD LION SHOPPING CENTER!! Most of these operations are occurring between Green Park Inn and Tanger Outlets and require alternating traffic shifts throughout this area. Motorists are encouraged to allow extra time when planning their trips to and through this area of the project and to slow down and remain alert!
Traffic Light/Line work from Wilson Dr/105 to the Big Light is causing heavy traffic & delays coming into town on 105.
4:56pm – Possible delays in the area of 221/421 in Deep Gap due to vehicle fire.
Wednesday June 15
12:55pm – Expect delays at the bottom of the mountain on 421 in Wilkes County due to wreck.
Thursday June 16

9am – Major delays on 421 in Deep Gap due to accident at old/new 421 intersection
9:20am – northbound lanes of 421 in Deep Gap are back open. Expect heavy congestion in the area near old/new 421 for a bit due to red light rotation.
