Update – Saturday, December 8, 2018 4:08pm – Jim Cantore, of the Weather Channel, spent about six hours in front of the Watauga County Courthouse providing reports to viewers all across the nation. In between reports, Cantore took numerous photos with local residents and visitors, many of which can be seen on the WataugaOnline twitter feed.
The Boone Christmas Parade took place starting at 11 am and Cantore broadcast portions of it, as the route went right by him.
Cantore told WataugaOnline.com he expects heavy snow in the area and the impacts of which could last for days. Cantore and crew will be in Boone for the next few days until the storm has passed. Look for his reports on the Weather Channel again on Sunday morning.
