Horse rescued by fire department, emergency management and wrecker Thursday night

A horse was recused after getting stuck in a pond on Thursday night. At 6:30 PM Zionville Fire was dispatched to 1791 Silverstone Road for the animal rescue, according to Watauga Emergency Management Director Shane Garland.

Responding units found a horse that had got into a pond that had been drained and was stuck in the mud. Zionville Fire along with Watauga EMergency Management, Hampton’s Wrecker Service, and community neighbors assisted with rescue, according to Garland. Units were on scene for 3 hours performing the rescue.

Garland wanted to send out a a special Thank You to Hampton’s Wrecker Service and Mitchel and Jason with Hampton’s that made the rescue possible.
