Last Updated on November 4, 2025 6:27 pm

The 68th Annual Farm City Banquet will celebrate the High Country's agricultural heritage Thursday, November 13 at 6 p.m. at Boone United Methodist Church.

The event honors locally grown produce, agricultural programs and community members who support the region's farming economy. Coyote Kitchen will cater a supper featuring local foods, followed by recognition awards and live bluegrass music from local musicians Ian and Kelly Snider.

Awards will recognize individuals and businesses that have made significant contributions to agriculture, as well as organizations and civic groups that have benefited the community's agricultural economy. Commodity groups will present their respective producers of the year, and Watauga Soil and Water will announce the Farm Family of the Year.

Door prizes will feature baskets filled with locally produced foods and other items. Acclaimed local artist Richard Tumbleston is donating an original piece of art with an agriculture theme to be given away at the event.

Extension and Watauga County Farm Bureau are hosting a canned food drive at the banquet. Guests are asked to bring canned food items to be donated to area food banks.

The event concludes with a door prize drawing at the end of the celebration.
