High Country residents with travel plans to the northeast this week are advised to be aware of possible record-breaking snowfall.
As an official Weather Ready Nation Ambassador for the High Country, WataugaRoads.com is working with the National Weather Service to keep motorists traveling to the northeast informed about changing conditions.
Heavy snow, strong winds, and blizzard conditions are forecast Monday into early Wednesday from the New York City metro area up into the Boston metro area, with snow as far south as Washington, D.C. This storm will likely cause dangerous travel conditions, power outages, and coastal flooding.
