High Country Braces For Lots Of Rain For The Weekend, Flood & High Wind Watches In Effect, Video Updates

Watauga County, and the High Country, remains under a Flood Watch until Sunday evening. The National Weather Service has also issued a High Wind Watch from Friday evening through Sunday morning. 3 to 5 inches of rain, with higher amounts possible, and wind gusts up to 30 mph are to be expected according to NWS. The Weather Service also says that an increased risk of landslides is expected with this storm. Brad Panovich, Chief Meteorologist NBC Charlotte, says that the parts of the High Country could see between 10-15 inches of rain by the time the storm is over Monday.
