Fire officials from the Watauga County Fire Marshal's office and Boone Fire were seen Monday at the location of the fatal fire in Valle Crucis, which occurred on Friday. As the investigation continues, several GoFundMe accounts have been created to assist those involved in the fire.

On Monday, the Valle Crucis Community Park FaceBook page shared a newly created account to assist with the family that escaped the blaze. According to the GoFundMe page, Nicky Nagy, her husband Andreas, and two young girls (Alice & Ellie) escaped from the fire. The family operated a business at the Valle Landing complex, along with living in one of the upstairs apartments. While jumping out their 2nd story bedroom window, Nicky suffered four broken vertebrae and is currently hospitalized, the page states. The link for that GoFundMe page is here.

A GFM account has also been set up to assist another of the business in the complex, Bald Guy Brew. The page states that, “This page as been established to relieve some of the financial burden for Don Cox, the owner of Bald Guy Brew Coffee Roasting Company. Please join us in showing support for this local business through sharing and donating what you can.” The link to that GFM page can be found here.

There is another GoFundMe account that has been set up to help with funeral expenses for the reported fatality that occurred during the Friday blaze. As of Monday afternoon the name of the victim has not officially been released by local fire or law enforcement agencies. As that information becomes officially available it will be updated here, along with the GFM page link.
