Boone, NC (March 21, 2018) – A limited gasoline fuel spill on the property of Blue Ridge Energy in Boone has been contained to the cooperative’s property at 2491 US Hwy 421 South in Boone.
The accidental spill occurred at the fleet fueling tank for the cooperative’s service vehicles. Blue Ridge Energy’s emergency response Spill Prevention and Control plan was immediately activated by employees, including contacting STAT, Inc., the cooperative’s environmental spill contractor. STAT has been onsite since the spill, performing further containment and monitoring measures.
