6am – Report of some ice on 321 near water plant, on the Parkway and other non treated surfaces. Allow extra travel time this morning.
Freezing Rain Advisory still in effect until 9am.
7:25am – Roby Greene Rd, parts of Castleford Rd, areas around the Parkway, parts of 321 in Blowing Rock, 194 near Hardin Park School are just some of the reported slick spots this morning. No reported travel issues in the western and southern parts of Watauga.

8:12am – Avery County Schools are now CLOSED.
8:25am – still getting reports of slick roads mainly east of Boone (Roby Greene Rd, parts of Castleford Rd, areas around the Parkway, parts of 321 in Blowing Rock, Bamboo, Sampson Rd to name a few.) Still not hearing of any travel issues in the southern and western parts of Watauga at this time.
10am – expect delays at Raven Rock Road/Roby Greene Rd due to accident due to slick road.
