…FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY
EVENING…

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

* WHERE…Portions of northwest North Carolina, including the
following areas, Ashe and Watauga and Virginia, including the
following areas, Alleghany VA, Bath, Bland, Craig, Giles,
Montgomery, Pulaski and Wythe.

* WHEN…From Thursday morning through Friday evening.

* IMPACTS…Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– As Tropical Storm Debby moves across the region, a prolonged
period of rain, heavy at times, can be expected from Thursday
morning through Friday. Rainfall amounts between 3 and 7
inches are possible across the watch area by Friday night,
with locally higher amounts possible.
