Hazardous Weather Outlook Saturday, September 5, 2026

The National Weather Service office in Blacksburg, Virginia has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for north central North Carolina, northwest North Carolina, central Virginia, south central Virginia, southwest Virginia, west central Virginia and southeast West Virginia, including Watauga, Ashe, Alleghany and Wilkes counties.

Day One — Today and Tonight

Scattered strong to severe storms are possible this afternoon and evening. Damaging winds and isolated hail are the primary hazard, and heavy rainfall may also lead to urban, small stream and flash flooding.

Days Two Through Seven — Sunday Through Friday

There is a low probability for widespread hazardous weather.
