A fight caught on video between fans of two North Carolina softball teams has gone viral leading to both teams being disqualified.

The fight occurred on Saturday at the Brickyard Park fields in Kingsport, TN, between the East Wilkes Cardinals and the Canton based Blue Ridge Explosion. The teams were competing in a USA Softball-sponsored 12 and under tournament.

“It’s a shame this had to happen,” Todd McLemore, athletic program coordinator for Kingsport’s Parks and Recreation Department told the Kingsport Times-News.  McLemore went on to say a verbal confrontation broke out between parents of both teams, and after someone pushed another person down an embankment, then came the fists.

There were no reported injuries or arrests.

Tina Gale, the regional director of USA Softball, says that both teams were banned from the tournament and future competitions.
