BLOWING ROCK, NC – On the morning of Wednesday, July 30, 2025, Mr. Barry Herbert Dubner of Parkland, Florida, tragically lost his life following a fall from the Glen Burney Trail in Blowing Rock.
At approximately 9:00 AM, first responders from the Blowing Rock Police Department, Blowing Rock Fire Department, and Watauga Medics were dispatched to a report of a fall along the trail. Upon arrival, responders located Mr. Dubner, who had fallen down a steep embankment. Despite rescue efforts, Mr. Dubner was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Glen Burney Trail is temporarily closed until further notice.
