  • WHAT…Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below expected.
  • WHERE…Portions of northwest North Carolina, southwest and west
    central Virginia, and southeast West Virginia.
  • WHEN…From 1 PM Saturday to 1 PM EST Sunday.
  • IMPACTS…The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 20 below zero
    could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

If you do not have heat in your home or lack shelter, you can call
211 for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the cold.
