Emergency personnel from Foscoe Fire Department, Watauga County Sheriff's Department, Watauga Medics and Watauga County Rescue Squad were dispatched Thursday evening to respond to a possible person in distress in the river near 105/Broadstone bridge.
A man was seen “neck deep in the water” near Broadstone Road, according to the scanner dispatch. However the caller reporting the situation waited at least an hour before calling the 911 Watauga Communications Office.
After searching the river between Shull's Mill/Broadstone Road to Guy Ford Road, all responding agencies found no signs of a possible person in the water.
