In the latest drought update for North Carolina, all of Watauga and Avery counties in the abnormally dry category. Meanwhile, about a 1/4 of Ashe is in Moderate Drought while the rest is in abnormally dry status. This is the first time since January 9th that any portion of the High Country has been in moderate drought status.
