…DENSE FOG ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EST FRIDAY…

  • WHAT…Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog.
  • WHERE…Portions of southwest and west central Virginia and
    northwest North Carolina…including the Interstate 81 Corridor,
    Interstate 77, and the Blue Ridge Parkway.
  • WHEN…Until 8 AM EST Friday.
  • IMPACTS…Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.
  • ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Rain which fell Thursday has resulted in
    very wet conditions. As the air cools, the moisture will form
    into areas of dense fog. This fog will likely persist until the
    winds increase with the passage of a cold front Friday morning.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

If driving, slow down, use your headlights, and leave plenty of
distance ahead of you.
