At approximately 3:30 on Wednesday, September 3rd a call came in to Watauga County Communications reporting a structure fire at the 4000 block of Wildcat Rd.
The single occupant at the residence was able to escape safely, and the structure suffered minor damage.
Responding departments included Deep Gap Fire, Boone Fire Department, Watauga Medics, Watauga County Rescue Squad, and the Watauga County Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Fire Marshal’s Office would like to remind you to use safe practices when cooking. Do not leave food unattended while cooking. Be sure to have fire suppression tools like a fire extinguisher or fire blanket available.
