BOONE — Appalachian State University’s eighth annual Community FEaST will take place Wednesday, Oct. 8, 2025, from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Sanford Mall. The event invites students, faculty, staff and community members to share a simple, locally sourced meal at a 100-yard-long table.
Hosted by AppalFRESH — the Appalachian Food Research for Equity, Sustainability and Health Collaborative — the FEaST, short for Food Engagement and Story Telling, encourages conversation about sustainable food systems. Organizers aim to build community, minimize waste, maximize local sourcing, and provide resources for food-insecure community members.
In case of rain, an indoor location will be announced at this link. Groups and classes interested in contributing can sign up online.
