…COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 10 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM
EST TUESDAY…

* WHAT…For the High Wind Warning, northwest winds 25 to 35 mph
with gusts up to 60 mph. For the Cold Weather Advisory, very cold
wind chills as low as 10 below expected.

* WHERE…In North Carolina, Ashe and Watauga Counties. In Virginia,
Grayson County. In West Virginia, Western Greenbrier County.

* WHEN…For the High Wind Warning, until noon EST Tuesday. For the
Cold Weather Advisory, from 10 PM this evening to 10 AM EST
Tuesday.

* IMPACTS…Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles. The cold wind chills as low
as 10 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are
not taken.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and
avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution
if you must drive.

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
