Casting Bread Free Market and Cafe has announced the return of its signature fundraising event, the 11th Annual Ducky Regatta Festival, taking place on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. along the scenic banks of the Middle Fork of the New River in Blowing Rock.
The Ducky Regatta Festival is a beloved community tradition that welcomes the return of summer while celebrating twenty years of Casting Bread's mission to share food, compassion, and community with neighbors in need.
This free, family-friendly event brings together local businesses, families, and supporters for a joyful day by the river — all while raising critical funds to support food assistance and community programs across the region.
The highlight of the festival is the iconic rubber duck race down the Middle Fork, where adopted ducks compete for exciting prizes. In addition to the main race, “Duckling Races” for children will take place throughout the event. For the first time ever, every child attending the festival will receive a free race entry upon arrival, ensuring more opportunities for families to participate in the fun. Additional ducks can be purchased online in advance or the day of the event.
Sponsorships allow the festival to offer free admission for all, which includes access to bounce houses, games, crafts, music, snacks, family-fun activities, vendor and community partner tables, and more. All funds raised through sponsorships and duck adoptions directly support Casting Bread's Free Market and Cafe programs, which provide dignified food access and community connection to all who walk through its doors.
