The Boone Police Department has completed their investigation and filed charges in the January 22, 2015, motor vehicle crash that claimed the life of ASU student Jacob Dylan Whitaker on Highway 105.
Master Police Officer Joe Knapp has charged Jonathan Dylan Reeder, 21 years-of-age, of Boone, with Misdemeanor Death by Vehicle, Exceeding the Posted Speed Limit, and Driving Left of Center. Mr. Reeder was given a $2000 unsecured bond pending a court appearance on June 18, 2015.
According to a news release from Boone Police the day after the crash Whitaker died at the scene, and Reeder refused medical treatment. There were no other occupants in either vehicle.
