Cops and firefighters have long had a friendly and… competitive relationship. Recently, the Boone Police Department has laid down a challenge- a waffle eating challenge. The event will take place Thursday May 7, 2015, at 9 am, at the Waffle House in Boone.
The Boone Police Department is fundraising for Special Olympics North Carolina. Boone Fire will be raising money for the NC Firefighters’ Burned Children Fund.
All of us are very excited to team up with the Waffle House and Boone Fire to raise money and awareness for our respective causes. Our goal is to host a fun event, at least for the spectators, and allow Boone residents to interact with their public servants. We are hopeful that many in the community will come out to support this event.

This is a great opportunity for some friendly competition with our fellow public servants while raising money for two great causes.
