BOONE, NC – After completing the membership voting process, the Nominating Committee of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce it has approved the addition of three members to the organization’s Board of Directors, effective July 1, 2024.

Each new member was elected to a three-year term from July 1, 2024-June 30, 2027. Upon completion of their initial term, each member is eligible to serve a consecutive three-year term upon mutual agreement of the individual and the Nominating Committee.

I also wish to express my appreciation to those whose service is concluding this year for their commitment and leadership on the Board. I am eager to collaborate with our existing and newly appointed board members and am excited about the collective achievements we will realize in support of our exceptional Boone Area Chamber of Commerce team.”
The Nominating Committee also announced that Tara Brossa will become Chair Elect effective July 1, 2024, and will serve as Chair the Board of Directors for the 2025-26 Chamber year. Brossa is General Manager of both the Courtyard by Marriott of Boone and Hampton Inn and Suites of Boone. She is Vice Chair of the High Country Workforce Development Board and serves as chair of the Chamber’s Workforce Development committee. Brossa is an adjunct professor in the Hospitality Management program at Caldwell Community College & Technical Institute.
“This group serves as an excellent complement to our current Board of Directors and will add to an already strong community-wide perspective,” said David Jackson, President/CEO of the Boone Area Chamber of Commerce. “These new board members have experience that matches current areas of focus for our organization. Their voices with harmonize with our current Board and help our organization focus further on our mission, while also identifying new opportunities for engagement in the years to come.”
