Blue Ridge Energy Reminds Members To Be Aware Of Holiday Utility Scams

Last Updated on December 14, 2016 2:01 pm

Blue Ridge Energy, the new branding name for Blue Ridge Electric and Blue Ridge Energies,  is reminding members to be aware of scams during the holiday season. Just like in previous scams, beware of scammers who typically threaten to turn off your power or demand payment with a pre-paid card, credit card or money transfer service.

Scammers have also pretend to represent Blue Ridge Energy (Blue Ridge Electric and/or Blue Ridge Energies), and used fake caller ID to look like the call came from Blue Ridge.

If you receive a suspicious phone call do not make a payment and do not give out personal information. Instead, hang up and call your local police department and Blue Ridge Energy at 1-800-451-5474.
