Main Street Paving

Great news: the paving of Main Street is scheduled to begin much earlier than we initially anticipated!

Milling is scheduled to begin June 15th – with paving to tentatively begin the week of June 22nd, weather permitting.

  • All paving work will be Sundays to Thursdays from 7:00pm-7:00am. No daytime or weekend work.
  • There will also be no work completed the week of July 3rd-7th.
  • All of Main Street, 221 to Green Street, and the top of Globe Road to Wallingford would be paved.
  • We will send updates and reminders on paving work as it progresses.

Memorial Park: Phase 2

Progress continues in Memorial Park with the playground equipment installed and the concrete ribbon in place. The last steps on the playground addition will be the pour in place that will take place this week. We are scheduled to have this portion of the playground back open within the next two weeks. Additional work continues in the park, with more concrete work taking place.

Budget Meeting

We held the annual budget workshop last week and thank you to the Town Council for taking the time to participate and provide much needed feedback. Click here for a copy of the proposed budget.

Blowing Rock Elementary Civic Day

Each year, the kindergarten through second grade classes from Blowing Rock Elementary School visit Town Hall for Civic Day.

The groups are divided up into three areas: one inside with the Town Manager, Shane Fox, learning about what the Town does; a second group outside with a collection of Town equipment (including a Fire Truck, Police cars, landscaping and public works equipment); and a third group on the playground. This year we welcomed over 100 kids!

Thank you so much for all the employees that took time to participate with the kiddos.
