Blood, Sweat, and Gears Donates To Sheriff’s Canine Program

On March 14th 2014 Blood, Sweat, and Gears, the annual bicycle race through Watauga County, purchased and donated $1,503.80 in specialized training equipment for the Watauga County Sheriff’s Offices canine program.

This equipment will be utilized in maintaining the proficiency of the three canine’s “Moses,” “Elvis,” and “Tanner” currently used by Watauga County Sheriff’s Office.

This equipment will also be utilized at an upcoming training seminar this April hosted by Watauga County Sheriff’s Office.

In April, local and regional Canine Teams will have the opportunity to participate in a week long Advanced Training Program and receive their certification through USLECA (United States Law Enforcement Canine Association). This equipment will help build the confidence of young Canine Teams as well as challenge the more experienced teams.
