Banner Elk Fire & Rescue receives donated Interceptor SUV from Westlake Fire Department in Texas

Last Updated on May 7, 2025 8:49 pm

Banner Elk Fire & Rescue is honored and deeply grateful to announce the generous donation of a Ford Interceptor SUV from the Westlake Fire Department in Texas.

This vehicle, previously operated by Westlake Fire, now finds a new home in the mountains of North Carolina, where it will serve our community as a dual-purpose medical response and incident command vehicle.

The roots of this generous act stretch back to the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, when the Westlake Fire Department endured and overcame the storm’s devastating impact. Since then, Westlake vowed to support other departments in times of need. In the wake of Hurricane Helene, they saw an opportunity to extend that promise—and they did so with action, not just words.

This donation reflects the true essence of the brotherhood and sisterhood that defines the fire service—departments across the country, united by a shared mission to serve and protect, stepping up for one another in times of need.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the Westlake Fire Department for their incredible generosity. We are proud to give this apparatus a renewed purpose, and we’re committed to honoring its legacy through service to our community!

And a huge shout out to Auto Imagee the awesome decal job!
