UPDATE Thursday November 8 5:52pm – The bridge is back open.
The completion of the Baird's Creek Road bridge project is scheduled to be completed in early November.
November 8th is the scheduled date, David Uchiyama NCDOT Communications Officer, tells WataugaOnline.com
That portion of Baird's Creek Road has been closed since June 25. The original schedule had the bridge closed through October 31. Uchiyama said earlier this year that the bridge was in poor condition and no longer meets the demands of the traffic in the area.
