Attempted Robbery On App State Campus On Tuesday Sept 25

An attempted robbery took place on the ASU campus, according to Appalachian State University Police.

The victim reported that on September 25, 2018, at approximately 9:50 p.m., he was approached by two unknown males near the intersection of Rivers Street and Stadium Drive, just south of the west expression tunnel. The victim reported that the males ordered him to get on the ground, checked his pants pockets, and then fled northwest on foot. According to the victim, no weapon was mentioned or displayed. No injuries were reported.

One suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6’0” tall, weighing approximately 185 pounds, and wearing a burgundy hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants. The second suspect was described as a black male with a light complexion, approximately 5’9” tall, weighing approximately 175 pounds, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants.

The University is providing resources and support to assist the victim in this incident. Appalachian State University Police are investigating. No suspects have been identified.
