Appalachian State University police responded to two threatening calls targeting campus residence halls Tuesday night that were confirmed to be hoaxes.
The university issued an AppStateALERT at approximately 10 p.m. Dec. 2 after receiving calls threatening safety in the areas of Sanford Hall and New River Hall.
Police searched both buildings and confirmed the details of the calls were not credible.
As a precaution, increased police patrols are ongoing and will continue, according to the alert.
The university urged anyone with safety concerns to call 911.
