During the February 25, 2026 meeting of the Boone Town Council, Anne Pruitt was officially sworn in to serve as a member of the Boone Town Council. Anne fills the vacant seat previously held by Mayor Dalton George, who was elected Mayor of the Town of Boone.
Anne currently serves as Vice Chair of the Town of Boone Planning Commission, an advisory board that provides recommendations to the Boone Town Council on matters related to future growth and development. In this role, she advises the Council on the implementation of adopted plans, including zoning text and map amendments. Prior to relocating to Boone, Anne served as a Town Council Member for the Town of Weddington, North Carolina.
Anne brings a professional background in risk management and design-focused planning to the Boone Town Council. She is passionate about housing affordability and neighborhood stability, supporting small businesses, improving pedestrian safety, and strengthening environmental stewardship in the Town of Boone.
“I am excited for the opportunity to continue to serve and work alongside the residents of Boone as a member of the Boone Town Council,” said Anne Pruitt.
The Boone Town Council meets regularly on the second Wednesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. and the fourth Wednesday of each month at 5:00 p.m. Meetings are held in the Boone Town Council Chambers, located at 1500 Blowing Rock Road.
