2014 & 2013 Precipitation Comparisons Through Early November

2013 broke several records for precipitation amounts in Watauga County, barring record setting snowstorms it appears that 2014 will fall well below last years totals.

Between January 1 – November 3, 2013 Boone officially recorded 69.02 inches of precipitation compared to just 42.85 inches for the same time this year. A difference of 26.17 inches.

Since modern day weather records have been kept, officially since 1980, 2014 ranks 20th wettest for the above time period where 2013 had easily already became the wettest year on record.

2013 ended the year officially with 74.47 inches and just missed all time mark set in 1979 of 82.79 inches. For a complete breakdown of all data from 2013 check out the 2013 Weather Recap.
