On December 29th, 2017, members of the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office Problem Oriented Policing (P.O.P.) Squad and Special Operations Unit located and arrested a fugitive wanted in Florida for Armed Robbery and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
On December 28th, 2017, information was received that Lance Orrick, 25, of Winter Haven Florida, was in Watauga County, NC and was wanted in Florida on charges. Sheriff’s Deputies confirmed Orrick was indeed wanted in Florida and then began searching for him using the information provided.
On December 29th, 2017, Sheriff’s Deputies were able to locate Orrick at his family’s residence and arrest him without incident. Orrick was given a $200,000.00 secured bond and currently awaits extradition back to Florida.
